Definition
山岭 (shān lǐng) refers to a mountain ridge — the long, narrow top of a mountain or a connected line of hills. It is distinct from 山峰 (shān fēng), which is a single pointed peak, and 山脉 (shān mài), which is a whole mountain range. 山顶 is the very summit, while 山坡 is the side slope.
