布道 is a separable verb-object compound (离合词) meaning 'to preach a religious sermon' or 'to evangelize', most commonly used in Christian contexts. The object 道 ('the Way' / doctrine) can split off from 布 ('to spread') when inserting measure words, durations, or other elements — e.g. 布过两次道 ('have preached twice'). You do not place a direct object after 布道; instead use 向...布道 ('preach to someone').
