Definition
帖 (tiē) is a bound form (b.f.) meaning 'obedient, submissive, or properly arranged.' It is not used alone; it appears in compounds such as 服帖 (fútiē, 'docile, compliant') and 妥帖 (tuǒtiē, 'appropriate, proper'). Be careful not to confuse it with the homographs 帖 (tiě, 'invitation card') and 帖 (tiè, 'calligraphy copybook'), which have different tones and meanings.
