Definition
广大 (guǎng dà) has two main uses: describing a vast area (e.g., 广大森林 'vast forest') and describing a large number of people (e.g., 广大消费者 'the vast number of consumers'). Compared to 宽广 (kuān guǎng 'wide, spacious') and 辽阔 (liáo kuò 'vast, boundless'), which focus on physical space, 广大 is more general and also applies to groups of people. 广泛 (guǎng fàn 'extensive, wide-ranging') describes the scope of influence or activity, not area or crowd size.
