广阔 describes vast physical spaces (fields, plains) or broad abstract scope (knowledge, vision). It is more general than 辽阔, which emphasizes immense scale of land or water, and 宽阔, which highlights physical width and openness (e.g., a wide road). It is neutral in register and widely used.
