Definition
建筑物 (jiàn zhù wù) is a formal, general term for any physical building or structure (e.g., a skyscraper, bridge, or factory). It is more specific than 建筑 (jiàn zhù), which also covers architecture as a field or the act of building. Unlike 房屋 (fáng wū), which usually refers to houses or dwellings, 建筑物 can apply to any constructed edifice.
