Definition
弥补 (mí bǔ) means to make up for a deficiency, mistake, or regret — often something intangible (弥补遗憾). It is more formal and abstract than 补 (to mend/supplement everyday items like clothes or lessons). Unlike 赔偿/补偿, which focus on concrete financial or legal compensation for loss or damage, 弥补 is used for emotional, relational, or skill gaps.
