Definition
强占 (qiáng zhàn) means 'to forcibly occupy or seize' and always involves the use of force or coercion, often illegally. It is stronger and more aggressive than the neutral 占据 (zhàn jù 'occupy') or military 占领 (zhàn lǐng 'capture'). It overlaps closely with 霸占 (bà zhàn 'forcibly dominate'), but 强占 focuses on the forcible taking itself, while 霸占 emphasizes monopolizing control afterwards.
