Definition
恢复 is the general verb for 'recover' or 'restore' — it can apply to health, relationships, functions, or a previous state. For health recovery, 康复 (kāngfù) is more specific to medical recuperation; for repairing physical objects or relationships, 修复 (xiūfù) is used. 复原 (fùyuán) is a more formal synonym for restoring something to its original state.
