惊险 describes thrillingly dangerous experiences (movies, rides, etc.) — an exciting, edge-of-your-seat danger. Unlike 危险 (just 'dangerous'), 险 (risky), 危急 ('critical'), or 艰险 ('difficult and dangerous'), 惊险 always implies excitement.
