慌 has two uses: (1) as an adjective meaning 'panicky, flustered' — a momentary reaction, less sustained than 紧张 (nervous/tight) and milder than 恐慌 (panic-stricken); (2) colloquially as a complement after 得 meaning 'extremely, unbearably' — similar to 要命 but less intense, and without the 'mess' nuance of 一塌糊涂.
