Definition
憔悴 (qiáo cuì) describes a haggard, thin, and sallow appearance caused by exhaustion, illness, or worry — it focuses on the facial look. This differs from 苍白 (cāng bái), which means 'pale' and can be figurative, and the more extreme 惨白 (cǎn bái 'deathly pale').
