Definition
拉拢 (lā lǒng) means to win someone over by offering inducements, often in a manipulative or underhand way — it has a negative connotation. This contrasts with 争取 (zhēng qǔ), which is neutral/positive and means to strive for or win over support legitimately. Unlike 诱惑 (yòu huò) or 引诱 (yǐn yòu), which tempt someone into doing something bad, 拉拢 focuses on gaining allegiance.
