括号 covers all bracket symbols in Chinese — round parentheses ( ), square brackets [ ], curly braces { }, etc. While English has separate names for each type, Chinese uses 括号 as a general term. When you need to be specific, you can say 圆括号 (round), 方括号 (square), or 大括号 (curly). 括号 can also refer to the content inside the brackets (e.g., 括号里的内容).
