Definition
挑错 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to deliberately find fault with someone'. In sentences, 挑 and 错 can split when measurements, modifiers, or complements come between them — e.g., 挑了不少错 ('picked out many faults') or 挑别人的错 ('pick on others' faults'). The target of criticism is usually introduced with 的 (别人的错) or placed after 错 with 的.
