Definition
排除 (páichú) has two main uses: (1) actively remove obstacles, faults, or dangers, and (2) rule out possibilities or suspects. Compared to 消除 (xiāochú), which suggests gradual eradication of abstract things (e.g., fear), 排除 is more deliberate and concrete. Unlike 排斥 (páichì), which implies rejection with a negative or repulsive force, 排除 is a neutral act of exclusion.
