Definition
摘 (zhāi) means 'to pick' flowers/fruit by plucking, or 'to take off' glasses/hats. For picking, 采 (cǎi) is more formal and often used for gathering tea/samples; 掐 (qiā) is pinching off with fingers. For removing accessories, 摘 is the opposite of 戴 (dài 'to put on/wear').
