Definition
敌 is a bound form (b.f.) that cannot stand alone as a word in modern Chinese. It appears as a root in compounds meaning 'enemy' (敌人, 敌意) or 'to match / be equal to' (匹敌, 无敌). When used in the second sense, it often appears in negative constructions (无敌 'unmatched') or with 匹 (匹敌 'to be a match for').
