Definition
敬重 (jìngzhòng) means to deeply respect someone for their character, seniority, or achievements — it carries a sense of reverence and admiration. It is stronger and more heartfelt than 尊重 (zūnzhòng), which is respect for rights or opinions, and more personal than 尊敬 (zūnjìng), which is often used as a formal honorific. Use 敬重 when you genuinely look up to someone's integrity or life experience.
