Definition
文科 (wénkē) refers to 'liberal arts' as a broad academic category opposed to sciences (理科). It groups subjects like history, philosophy, and literature. 人文 (rénwén) means 'humanities' more narrowly—the cultural and intellectual aspects—and is rarely used to contrast with sciences. 文学 is just 'literature' (works), 语文 is a school subject (language arts), and 文艺 is literature and art in general.
