Definition
无须 (wú xū) is a formal, written adverb meaning 'need not, there is no need to'. It is more literary than the everyday 不用 (bù yòng) and slightly more formal than 不必 (bù bì). Unlike 未必 (wèi bì) or 不见得 (bú jiàn dé), which express epistemic uncertainty ('not necessarily'), 无须 expresses deontic lack of necessity.
