Definition
朴实 (pǔ shí) describes a person's character or lifestyle as simple, honest, and without pretense. It differs from 朴素 (pǔ sù, plain in appearance) and 质朴 (zhì pǔ, plain in design or language), and from 淳朴 (chún pǔ, rustic innocence). For an antique-style plainness, use 古朴 (gǔ pǔ).
