果断 (guǒ duàn) means 'decisive' — acting or making choices quickly and firmly. It emphasizes the decisiveness of action itself, unlike 坚定 (jiān dìng) which is firmness of belief or will, or 坚决 (jiān jué) which is determined resolve in attitude. 断然 (duàn rán) is more formal and often used adverbially for categorical actions (e.g., 断然拒绝).
