Definition
果真 (guǒ zhēn) means 'as expected' or 'indeed', confirming that something happened just as anticipated. It is more emphatic and formal than 果然 (guǒ rán, HSK5), and unlike 果然, it can also be used as a conjunction meaning 'if indeed' (e.g., 果真如此 'if that's really the case'). Use 果真 for stronger, more literary confirmation.
