Definition
某个 is an attributive determiner meaning 'a certain' or 'some'. It is used before a noun to refer to a specific person, thing, or place that the speaker does not want to or does not need to name explicitly. It often appears in narratives to introduce a new referent. Note that 某个 is more colloquial than the single character 某, which is more formal or literary.
