标本 (biāo běn) refers to a preserved physical specimen used for scientific or medical study, like a plant or animal specimen. 样本 (yàng běn) and 样品 (yàng pǐn) are more general: 样本 can mean a statistical sample or representative example, while 样品 usually means a product sample. 标本 also has a traditional Chinese medicine sense of 'root cause and symptoms' (标本兼治).
