Definition
橙子 (chéng zi) is the standard word for the fruit 'orange' (the round, orange-colored citrus). 橘子 (jú zi) is a different fruit — a tangerine or mandarin, which is smaller, easier to peel, and often sweeter. Use 橙子 for the larger, thicker-skinned orange you usually slice.
