Definition
母女 (mǔ nǚ) refers specifically to a mother and her daughter as a relational pair, not individuals. It contrasts with 父女 (father and daughter) and 母子 (mother and son), which are built the same way but change the first or second character. Use 母女 only when talking about the two together, not one separately.
