Definition
毕竟 (bìjìng) means 'after all' and is used to state a fundamental reason or fact that explains a situation, often with a tone of 'you have to consider that...'. Unlike 到底 (dàodǐ) and 究竟 (jiūjìng), which are more common in questions for emphasis ('exactly'), 毕竟 is used in statements to justify or remind. It is less formal than 归根到底 (guīgēn dàodǐ) and does not carry the sense of inevitability that 终究 (zhōngjiū) does.
