Definition
求人 is a separable verb (离合词) formed by the verb 求 (to ask, to seek) and the noun 人 (person). It means 'to ask someone for a favor' or 'to recruit someone (for a position)'. The two characters can split when you add aspect particles (了/过), measure words, or duration phrases: 求了一个人 ('asked someone for help'), 求过几次人 ('asked people for help several times'). It often carries a nuance of being reluctantly dependent on others.
