Definition
燕（yān）是一个黏着语素（bound form），主要出现在中国古代国名或地名中，如燕国（战国七雄之一）、燕京（北京旧称）、燕山（山脉名）。注意这个读音不同于‘燕子’的燕（yàn），燕子的燕单独使用表示燕子这种鸟。作为黏着语素，燕(yān)不能独立使用，必须与另一个语素组合成词。
