Definition
爹爹 is a colloquial, affectionate term for 'dad' or 'daddy', similar to 爸爸 but less common in modern standard Mandarin. In some northern dialects (e.g., parts of Hubei, Shandong), 爹爹 can also mean 'grandfather' (paternal). The reduplicated form (叠词) is typical for family address terms. Use it in familiar, informal contexts.
