Definition
瑟 (sè) is an ancient Chinese plucked string instrument with 25 strings, similar to a zither. In literary Chinese, 瑟 can also describe a rustling sound (as in 瑟瑟), but this usage is rare in modern speech and mostly appears in classical poetry or set phrases.
