Definition
甘休 is used almost exclusively with negation (不肯甘休, 绝不甘休) to mean 'not willing to give up' or 'not letting something rest.' It conveys stubborn persistence in a dispute or competition. In the set phrase 善罢甘休 it appears with 善罢, but 甘休 alone still requires a negative context.
