Definition
用不着 (yòng bu zháo) is an emphatic negative form of 用得着, meaning 'there is no need to' or 'not need'. It is stronger than 不用 and is common in spoken Chinese. It can be followed by a verb phrase (做某事) or a noun phrase (某物), and can also stand alone at the end of a sentence to mean 'no longer needed / useless'. Note that 着 here is pronounced zháo, not zhe.
