Definition
甩 (shuǎi) has two main uses: (1) to fling or swing with a whipping motion (e.g., 甩胳膊 swing an arm), distinct from the general throw 扔 (rēng) or the formal toss 抛 (pāo); (2) colloquially, to dump a partner (甩了男朋友), which is more direct than the formal 抛弃 (pāo qì) and more common than slang 蹬 (dēng).
