Definition
痘 originally referred to smallpox pustules, but in modern Chinese its most common use is for acne pimples (often in the reduplicated form 痘痘). It also appears in compound disease names such as 水痘 (chickenpox) and in 种痘 (smallpox vaccination). Understanding the context helps determine which sense is intended.
