Definition
瘫痪 is the standard verb for both physical paralysis (e.g., after injury) and figurative standstill (transport, systems). 麻痹 refers to numbness/loss of sensation in a limb, or figurative complacency (not system shutdown). The shorter 瘫 is colloquial, often used as a complement after 累 (累瘫了 = exhausted).
