监管 (jiān guǎn) means 'to supervise/regulate' and refers to official, authoritative oversight, especially by a government or regulatory body. 监督 (jiān dū) is broader—anyone can supervise or monitor—while 监管 implies a formal regulatory role with enforcement power. 监察 (jiān chá) is even more formal, used for internal discipline or official inspections.
