Definition
盟友 (méng yǒu) refers to an ally bound by a formal agreement, typically in politics, war, or business — one member of an alliance. It is distinct from 战友 (comrade-in-arms, a fellow soldier) and 同伙 (accomplice, often with a criminal connotation). 联盟 and 同盟 denote the alliance itself, not the individual members.
