Definition
直至 (zhí zhì) is a formal, written verb meaning 'until, up to' a point in time or condition. It is more literary than 直到 (zhí dào), which is the everyday spoken equivalent. Unlike 到 (dào), which is a general 'arrive at' verb for places or times, 直至 is used only for temporal or abstract endpoints.
