Definition
相差 (xiāng chà) is used specifically for measurable differences — how much two things differ in age, price, size, etc. Unlike 差 (chà), which means 'to lack' or 'to be inferior', 相差 always compares two quantities; unlike 区别 (qū bié), which refers to a qualitative distinction, 相差 is about a numerical gap.
