Definition
瞻仰 (zhān yǎng) is a formal verb meaning 'to pay one's respects by viewing' a deceased person's remains, portrait, or a memorial site. Unlike 敬重 or 崇敬 (which focus on inner respect), 瞻仰 emphasizes the physical act of viewing with reverence. It is more specific than 仰望 (to look up at/ admire) and is used only for solemn, ceremonial occasions.
