Definition
礼仪 (lǐ yí) broadly covers both the norms of polite behaviour (etiquette) and the formal procedures of ceremonies. It is more general than 礼节 (lǐ jié), which focuses on specific rules of politeness, and 仪式 (yí shì), which refers to the ceremony event itself rather than the social code.
