Definition
秤 (chèng) is a traditional Chinese steelyard scale — a beam with a sliding weight, still common in markets. 天平 (tiān píng) is a two-pan balance used in labs, while 磅 (bàng) is a modern platform scale (also a pound unit). 秤 is the most traditional and specific to that design.
