Definition
穿衣 is a separable verb (离合词) meaning 'to put on clothes' or 'to dress'. The two syllables can be split when a measure word, complement, or other element is inserted between them, as in 穿了一件新衣 ('put on a new outfit'). You can also add aspect particles or result complements: 穿了衣, 穿上衣. In everyday speech, 穿衣服 is more common, but 穿衣 appears in more formal or concise contexts.
