Definition
窃取 means 'to steal' but is used specifically for intangible things like secrets, information, and intellectual property. Unlike the general everyday word 偷 (tōu), which can be used for any theft, 窃取 is more formal and literary. It also differs from 盗窃 (dàoqiè), which typically refers to stealing physical objects.
