Definition
章 (zhāng) is a classifier for structured divisions of written works: chapters of a book, sections of a document, or clauses of a law. It also counts movements of a symphony. Contrast with 段 (duàn) for arbitrary segments (paragraphs, stretches), 节 (jié) for lessons or train cars, and 卷 (juàn) for volumes or scrolls.
