Definition
筋骨 refers literally to the sinews (筋) and bones (骨) of the body, i.e. the musculoskeletal system. By extension, it also describes physical strength, stamina, and resilience, and in a figurative sense one's inner strength, courage, or moral fiber — a person's 'backbone'. It is used both concretely (exercising one's 筋骨) and abstractly (testing one's 筋骨 in a challenge).
