Definition
签 (qiān) is a general verb meaning 'to sign' — used for documents, contracts, or one's name. For physically signing your name, use 签名 (qiānmíng) or 签字 (qiānzì); for formal/official agreements, 签署 (qiānshǔ) is more formal and written.
